Editorial Shoot Final Images & Evaluation

Evaluation

I am pretty happy with how this shoot turned out, after attempting this shoot once and not getting the outcome I desired I decided to shoot again and I am very pleased that I did. My initial idea was to shoot with pink and blue gels, but because these weren't available I instead used red, orange and blue, which turned out to be really visually effective. I think the strength of the blue gel could be a little bit more on reflection but I do like how the colours come together on the models skin and make it glow, fully supporting my GLEAM theme. The only think I would change if I was doing the shoot again is that I would not use the pink all over the face, all though in the flesh this looked really effective on the camera it didn't translate very well and got completely lost when using the gels, to save time I should have just applied a normal base and contour as it would have been coloured by the lights. To try and pick this back up I have took a few shots without the gels to try and show the make up a bit more.

I have really enjoyed creating the concept and shooting this part of the brief as it allowed me total freedom in what I wanted to do, a lot of the things I have done were completely trial and error but have created what I think is quite a visually exciting outcome. I enjoyed playing with textures and colours on the skin and also experimenting with different lighting set ups to create the visual that I want rather than a visual that fits a brief. I found this aspect of the brief really exciting and it is something that I look forward to doing more of.
